Apple has announced that its upcoming iOS 17, set to be released in Fall 2023, will bring several new features to iPhones SE 2nd generation and newer. These features include leaving video or audio messages after a missed FaceTime call, interactive widgets, and updated privacy settings, among others. The company made the announcement at its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday. For those eager to learn more, here are ten of the most noteworthy features that will be available on their iPhones.

1. The forthcoming iOS 17 update for iPhone users will provide them with an opportunity to personalize the display that appears on the recipient’s phone when they receive a call. This feature involves creating a customized Contact Poster, which can include a preferred Memoji or photo of the user’s choice. Moreover, users can select the font and color that will appear on the recipient’s phone when they receive a call from the user.

2. Live transcriptions of voicemail messages will now be available to iOS 17 users when they send a call to voicemail. This feature allows users to view the message in real-time as it is being left. Additionally, a new feature called Silence Unknown Callers will also be introduced, which automatically sends calls from unknown numbers to Live Voicemail without ringing the phone. With this update, spam calls can be declined instantly without being sent to Live Voicemail.

3. The iOS17 has a Check-In feature that allows users’ family and friends to receive automatic notifications when the user reaches their destination. This feature ensures that the loved ones are aware of the user’s safe arrival at home. Additionally, the feature checks on the user if they stop traveling towards their destination. In the event that the user does not respond, the feature sends the loved ones the user’s iPhone location, battery percentage, and cell service status.

5. The upcoming update will introduce a range of novel stickers like Live Stickers, emoji stickers, and Memoji stickers, among others. These stickers will sync automatically in the user’s iCloud, allowing them to be used effortlessly across their iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Furthermore, Live Photos can be converted into Live Stickers, providing users with the opportunity to create their personalized stickers.

6. With the latest iOS 17 update, iPhone users can now send audio or video messages as voicemails when they are unable to answer a FaceTime call. This feature allows for a more versatile means of communication for those who miss important calls, without the need for a traditional phone call.

7. Apple has extended its privacy protection settings to cover various aspects such as the internet and airdropped photos. The iOS 17 users can now blur photos and videos before viewing them, safeguard themselves from cyber attacks via the Lockdown Mode, and select which photos to share with an app while keeping their photo library private. Additionally, there are several other features available to enhance privacy.

8. The latest update to Apple devices includes enhanced AirDrop settings and wireless connections. With the introduction of NameDrop, Apple users can share phone numbers and email addresses between their iPhones when they are in close proximity. Additionally, users can now send transfers via AirDrop, irrespective of the physical distance between them and the receiver. SharePlay is also receiving an upgrade, allowing users to listen to music and play games with nearby iPhone users.

9. A fresh journal application is set to launch for iPhone users. This novel app will permit users to pen down their life experiences using their iPhones, and additionally, they can include photos, locations, recordings, and more in their entries. The app will also suggest experiences for the users to write about based on the photos taken, music listened to, workouts completed, and other details captured in the device.

10. The upcoming iOS 17 software will bring significant improvements to the autocorrect feature of the iPhone, resulting in more precise spelling corrections. Autocorrect will now underline the corrected words and also offer a predictive typing option for greater convenience.

iPhone users can expect several updates with the release of iOS17, including the ability to collaborate on playlists through SharePlay, location sharing in message conversations, FaceTime availability on Apple TV, and a new StandBy feature that turns the iPhone into a bedside clock.
